12/24/2023 0 Comments Cities skylines better train rails![]() This while travelling right next to the rail line, as well as the newly constructed petro rail station.Ĭargo trains are actually overtaking the trucks on the highway, so it's definitely not faster by road.įurther note: I placed a truck ban in my city, now the farming trucks join the outside highway, drive the long way around to the next intersection, and travel to the petro cargo station that way. On further investigation I noted farming trucks joining the highway exporting goods huge distances all the way out of my active tiles. Then I noticed farming trucks driving through the city, and all the way across the bay, to deliver their exports to the station in the petro zone, while the farming station practically across the road sits idle. Then create a short piece of track from the depot in the direction you want. Then create a short track splitting off of the main line where you want it. Better wait for my elevated metro mod ) Personally I prefer to see those underground platforms to be used for Grand Central-like train stations. ![]() This is just a proof of concept and I dont recomment you to use trains instead of metros. ![]() They looked connected but when I zoomed in, they were not. This is a proof of concept train station that looks and behaves like a metro station but only for trains. Exports started flowing and trains appeared, so I placed a harbor as well, and cargo flowed. I put in a freight train depot and the tracks refused to connect at first. Over the course of many in-game years, the cargo station never got used, and no trains appeared, even though it's well connected etc, and right there.Ĭity grew nicely and I then started a petroleum plant across the bay, connected with bridges, rail etc, and placed a cargo station in the zone. The ships came in immediately and business continued. Placed a harbor and a cargo train station next to the farming zone, fairly close together. Started a new town next to a farming zone, and started farming. This is a set of 2 train tracks - a 16m wide version for small roads, and a 32m wide version for medium and large roads. ![]()
